– SEWER MAINTENANCE WORKER (entry level) – $18.00/hour
– SEWER OPERATOR – Starting wage for NJDEP licensed Sewer Operator will be based on applicant’s resume, training, and experience.

Bordentown Sewerage Authority seeks full-time Sewer Maintenance Worker/Operator.
*Position requires some weekend, holiday, and on-call work.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK:
WILL TRAIN! On-the-job training from date of employment. Room for advancement. Daily work performed includes various types of manual, skilled, and unskilled maintenance work in connection with the operation and maintenance of a wastewater treatment plant and collection system.

JOB DUTIES INCLUDE (but not limited to):
– Pump Station checks
– Belt Filter Press Operation
– Maintenance and repair of various pumps, tanks, and equipment
– Operation of chemical feed systems
– Keep daily records
– Respond to sewer blockage and odor complaint calls
– Property maintenance, grass cuttings, and cleanup for authority grounds and easements

QUALIFICATIONS:
– Requires minimum of high school diploma or equivalent
– A valid New Jersey driver’s license
– Must be able to respond to plant within thirty minutes in case of after hours emergency
– Ability to understand and follow oral instructions
– Ability to complete written reports, which are informative, legible, and accurate
– Ability to perform physical tasks under varying weather conditions
– Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class B (must obtain within six months of hire)
