Final Sewer Bill

FOR PROPERTIES THAT ARE CHANGING OWNERSHIP

To receive a Final Sewer Bill:

-Take a picture of your water meter (with the top cover open).

Have an email address for your title company.

-Email the picture, include the reading date, and the title company’s email address to billing@bordentownsa.org. Please include the property address in the subject line of the email.

A Final Sewer Bill includes:

The quarterly amounts due and/or paid, excess usage, administrative fee ($15 Buyer and $15 Seller) and the total amount expected from settlement.

What to send with a Settlement Check:

The final sewer bill and the Buyers’ information (name and billing address).

 

FOR PROPERTIES THAT ARE TENANT OCCUPIED

What to do when a Tenant is moving out:

-Take a picture of the water meter (with the top cover open).

-Email billing@bordentownsa.org the picture and provide the date it was taken.

-Make sure to include both the tenant and owners’ email address so both receive a copy of the final bill. Include the date of which is the Tenant is no longer responsible for the bill.

What to do when a Tenant is moving in:

 -Take a picture of water meter (with the top cover open) prior to move in.

-Email the water meter picture with date it was taken to billing@bordentownsa.org. Include the date of which the Tenant become responsible for the bill.

A Final Bill for a Rental Property includes:

The current bill and excess usage will be broken down based off of the move in and move out dates.

 

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

When should a request for a final bill be made?

At least 48 hours before closing.

Who should the checks be made out to?

All check should be made out to Bordentown Sewerage Authority and mailed to 954 Farnsworth Avenue, PO Box 396, Bordentown NJ 08505.

Does a new build property need a final bill?

Yes, see above for instructions.
